Mattis is a cinematographer and camera operator, based in Cologne who believes in a close collaboration with the director, creating a style that enhances the story without pushing it to the foreground.

Mattis was born in a small city near Dortmund, Germany. He discovered his passion for film at the University of Applied Science and Arts Dortmund. After graduating successfully he now pursues a Master's degree at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne, focusing further on cinematography. He also gained experience as an AC and Gaffer on commercials and features. Right now he works on a feature film project for his master’s degree.
